Women Leaders MK is delighted to welcome two inspirational ladies who will speak at the Women Leaders gala dinner and awards ceremony in October.
Our first speaker is Fola Komolafe, from Mazars, who was a finalist at last year’s Women Leaders awards. Before joining Mazars Fola was the managing director of Indisys Business Solutions where she directed a multi-million pound portfolio of award-winning programmes across Asia and Africa for international development clients.
She worked previously for HSBC and IBM in a number of senior roles and has over 25 years’ experience in the banking, IT and development sectors. Her qualifications include an MBA in finance, a postgraduate diploma in IT and a BSc in architecture.
Some years ago Fola started Fresh Inspiration, a charity that focuses on empowering people through education and enterprise in developing countries. She is the chair of Into The Community – the charity that oversees the Milton Keynes Foodbank; a director with Milton Keynes Christian Centre, a board member and previous chair of Milton Keynes Community Foundation.
Fola also served as a governor at MK College and was chair of governors from 2013 to 2016. In July 2015, Fola was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in Buckinghamshire and she received an MBE for services to business and community in June 2016.
As a partner and the global lead for international development, Fola provides leadership to Mazars’ work with international donor agencies and national governments who require technical advice and consultancy, audit and assurance support.
Our after-dinner speaker is Wing Commander Sarah Maskell MBE. As the lead for developing Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) within the Royal Air Force, Sarah is responsible for a team providing strategic guidance to in excess of 40,000 personnel, employed in a variety of locations to deliver a comprehensive package of D&I initiatives and projects.
Serving for over 18 years, she has engaged at all levels of the organisation, ensuring that developments in organisational culture underpin the current RAF Core Values and Standards.
As a senior leader herself she regularly provides bespoke support and advice to the Senior Leadership Executive and focussed engagement with the RAF Diversity Champion and Diversity Advocates. Her passion has undoubtedly driven the RAF journey on D&I matters in recent years.
