We are delighted to announce that Women Leaders Peterborough will be supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance service (EAAA), as its nominated charity in 2017.
EAAA operates not one, but two state of the art helicopters within the counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Bedfordshire. They attend victims of accident and medical emergency, bringing to the scene trauma doctors, critical care paramedics and advanced medical equipment; providing essential intervention and trauma relief at the scene, which has a huge impact on patient outcomes.
The charity flies an average of five missions a day, and in 2013 became the first Air Ambulance in the country to offer an emergency service in the hours of darkness. As a charity, they are funded completely by the public of East Anglia who have embraced their growth and development over the last sixteen years. They receive no funding from the Government.
Chris Donaldson, regional fund-raising manager said: “We are honoured to have the support of Women Leaders and their fantastic awards event taking place in November 2017 at the Arena, in Peterborough. The funds raised will be put straight to work with our crews, and will help to save even more lives throughout the region”.
